What's in a Name

Gabor shoes and Gabor boots have nothing to do with the three actress sisters who bear the same surname.  The most famous of them Sari Gabor also called by another name created havoc with men and she has been married eight or nine times.  She is alive today aged 96 and still married to her latest spouse.

This German shoe manufacturer has created quite a name for itself by creating stylish, but at the same time comfortable shoes.  They are very environmentally aware and will not use products that are harmful to feet and environment.

As with all things German, the fit of their footwear is perfect. Apart from the usual sizes, they manufacture shoes for the woman with a wider than usual fitting too. All of their styles can be adjusted with straps or Velcro to fit snugly round the feet.

If you have always bought shoes with up to date fashion in mind, this company will probably not make shoes that are to your liking.  However, for the boardroom and events where much standing around is required, they have designed a perfectly elegant pump that will not look out of place anywhere.

There is nothing wrong with stylish and ultra-high heels but what is wrong is that if they are not a good fit you will ruin your feet and, in particular your toes, permanently.  If you insist on wearing this style, you should make sure that you have your feet measured properly so that you will minimise the risk of injury.

Injuries include hammer toes, bunions and, if the shoes do not give enough support a sprained ankle or foot.  The latter can take months to heal, even causing permanent damage to the tendons.

Bunions and hammer toes will ultimately need surgery which will prevent you from wearing any kind of shoes for months afterwards.

The Gabor brand is not the cheapest in the market place.  However, you get what you have paid for in comfort, fit and understated style.  These shoes are not for one season only; you will find that they will be with you for years.
